The Coalition for Just Reparations (C4JR), with the support of IOM Iraq , is publishing regular newsletters on the Yazidi Survivors Law (#YSL) in three languages. Check out the fourth newsletter here, in English, Arabic, and Kurdish (Sorani and Kurmanji).

The #YSL is a seminal transitional justice framework to address atrocities committed by ISIL in Iraq. In this fourth edition, our newsletter shares the latest information regarding its implementation, including the challenges communities are facing. 

The fourth C4JR newsletter covers:

  • C4JR Preliminary Survey Data, based on an anonymous survey to learn about survivors’ perceptions of the YSL application process including respondents from Yazidi, Shabak, Turkmen, and Christian components living in Nineveh, Duhok, and Erbil governorates.
  • Implementation of the YSL and Application Statistics and Accountability Efforts.
  • Recent events, workshops, meetings and the first episode of C4JR’s new podcast.
  • The launch of C4JR’s new website dedicated to promoting the need for a survivor-friendly criminal accountability mechanism in Iraq meeting international standards with jurisdiction over international crimes committed by ISIL.
