C4JR Releases Issue #12 of the Yazidi Survivors Law Newsletter (September 2025)

The Coalition for Just Reparations (C4JR) publishes regular newsletters to provide updates on the implementation of the Yazidi Survivors’ Law (YSL). These newsletters share accurate information, highlight key developments, and amplify the views and experiences of those involved in putting this important transitional justice framework into practice for survivors of ISIL atrocities in Iraq.

Highlights from Issue #12

  • Reparations: In August, 2,216 survivors received reparations under the YSL.
  • Education: The Directorate met with the Ministry of Education to support survivors returning to school.
  • Testimonies Abroad: Survivors in Germany continue to record testimonies through Iraqi consulates.
  • Reports: New publications by Global Survivors Fund, Yazda, and partners highlight challenges survivors face, particularly in accessing education.
  • Commemoration: The 11th anniversary of the Yazidi Genocide was marked with events in Sinjar and Baghdad, calling for justice, accountability, and reconstruction.
  • Accountability: Iraqi officials and international actors continue to push for stronger justice mechanisms and documentation of ISIL crimes.
