C4JR Members Agree on Strategic Action Plan

July 23, 2020

On July 22nd and 23rd 2020 the Coalition for Just Reparations (C4JR) held a virtual strategic meeting to develop a C4JR two years strategy and action plan.

Supported by GIZ and colleagues from Civil Peace Services, C4JR members discussed reparations related topics in four working groups:

  • Reparations and Women’s Rights / Draft Law on Survivors of sexual violence by ISIS
  • Holistic rehabilitation services for survivors as a reparation measure
  • Reparations and minority rights / non-sectarianism and equal citizenship
  • Reform of Law No. 20

Deliberations within the working groups have been expedited through application of the “Reflecting on Peace Practice”, a tool designed to guide the development of new peacebuilding strategies, programs and projects.

A two year Strategy and Action plan based on the feedback of all participants will guide C4JR work in reaching its ultimate goal: enable survivors of ISIS conflict in Iraq realize their right to reparations.
