C4JR Briefed the UN Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide on the Yazidi Survivors Law

On May 21 C4JR delegation consisting of a Yazidi survivor and representatives of the Jiyan Foundation for Human Rights, Seed Kurdistan, DAK organization, and the Iraqi institution for development (IID) met with the UN Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide Ms. Alice Wairimu Nderitu during her official visit to Iraq, to discuss the importance of implementing the Yezidi Survivors’ Law as a response to atrocity crimes ISIL committed against different Iraqi communities.

We agreed that sustained dedication of all actors involved is necessary to make crucial reparations specified in the Yazidi Survivors Law a reality and thus uphold the promise of never again.
