In a recently released study on reparation for child victims and survivors of sale and sexual exploitation the UN Special Rapporteur on the sale and sexual exploitation of children referred to the Law on Yazidi Female Survivors (YSL) as an example of a survivor-centred reparation scheme. The study contains an analysis of the overall issue of children’s right to reparation and access to justice, as well as practices and experiences of various stakeholders on this issue. C4JR submitted a contribution to the Special Rapporteur in 2022 informing her on the important development in Iraq which resulted in focusing institutional attention on female survivors of conflict related sexual violence (CRSV) and repairing harm caused to children through ISIL committed crimes. Furthermore, the report, in line with C4JR submission, highlighted importance of a survivor-centred approach, detailed implementation plan and collaboration with CSOs. C4JR will continue engaging UN human rights monitoring mechanisms, including Special Procedures, to highlight advances and challenges on the path of swift and survivor-centric implementation of the YSL.
